► Hong Kong Top Brand Coronet^® collaborates with internationally renowned jewelry designer and world’s foremost diamond painter Reena Ahluwalia to launch hyper-realistic Coronet^® painting

► Coronet^® portrait painting will be unveiled on 15 September 2016 at Aaron Shum Jewelry Booth during the Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair at HKCEC

(Hong Kong, 8 Sept 2016) Aaron Shum Jewelry takes pride in its artistic vision and innovative approach in product design; from the development of the worldwide patented design – Coronet^® to two Guinness World Records Coronet Diamond Guitar and Gemstone Bass Guitar, the company has continued to produce high quality and creative pieces which often shape industry trends. This year, Aaron Shum is delighted to collaborate with acclaimed jewelry designer and diamond painter Reena Ahluwalia in launching Coronet^® portrait painting to showcase the true beauty and unique characteristics of this patented diamond setting technique. Aaron said, “It is our pleasure to work with Reena; her unprecedented talent in jewelry design and diamond painting is surely going to bring many new exciting elements to the industry.”  

The parties will be unveiling the ethereal Coronet^® portrait painting on 15 September 2016 at the Aaron Shum Jewelry Booth (HKCEC Hall#1C402, C404, C501, C503) during the Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair; in addition to the Coronet^® portrait painting, the exhibition will feature Reena’s seven astonishing art pieces from the Diamond Portrait Series and the Diamond Portal Series in Hong Kong for the very first time, including three of her latest creations: Heart of Gold, Pure Heart, and Passionate Heart. The parties will also announce a jewelry design collaboration which will be launched in Vicenza Oro 2017.  

Reena paints highly nuanced, hyper-realistic diamonds with ultra-magnified facets. In Reena's paintings, diamonds have stories and soul. Incredibly detailed, her paintings are large, mesmerizing and powerful. With her art residing in the collection of distinguished collectors worldwide, Reena has dedicated her entire life in celebrating diamonds through her paintings and jewelry creations. One of her paintings was featured on the cover of the prestigious 'World Diamond Magazine'.  

The Coronet^® portrait is a highly detailed acrylic-painting on a 48” x 48” canvas completed in 45 days. The painting embraces the grand solitaire effect accomplished by Coronet^® and depicts the highly refractive trait of the patented setting. Reena commented “Having long admired Aaron Shum as an innovator and creator of the Coronet^®, I am thrilled to collaborate with Aaron Shum Jewelry on two of my passions – jewelry design innovation and diamond storytelling through my paintings. Please stay tuned as we unveil the magic.” The Coronet^® portrait is scheduled to exhibit in the upcoming VicenzaOro and Baselworld.

About Reena Ahluwalia
Reena Ahluwalia is a multiple award-winning Canadian jewelry designer and painter. Coveted internationally by jewelry and art collectors, she is recognized as one of the Top Masters of Jewelry Design in Canada. Along with creating jewelry with deep meaning and symbolism, Reena is a strategy adviser and design consultant to some of the top diamond and jewelry houses. Her career highlights include being one of handful of living jewelry artists whose work is featured on a postage stamp. She designed a historic diamond piece for the Legislature of Ontario (Canada) with De Beers Canada. Reena created the inaugural collection for India's Rio Tinto Bunder Mine, diamonds found 100 years after the Golconda mines depleted. As a tribute to the Royal Wedding, Reena created a Diamond Tiara for HRH Kate Middleton with Royal Asscher Diamonds, company that cut the largest diamond ever found, the fabled Cullinan Diamond.  

As an accomplished painter, Reena paints highly nuanced, hyperrealistic diamonds with ultra-magnified facets, exploring their hypnotic depths. In Reena's paintings diamonds have stories and soul. She showcases her paintings in a select few exhibits, most recently at the prestigious Art Miami Fair. Reena's artwork benefits 'Jewelers For Children' (JFC) charity, to help children who are the victim of catastrophic illness or life-threatening abuse and neglect.
